The purpose of the library is to help those who wish to improve their skills, knowledge and technique in hand weaving, spinning and dyeing. It is also there to inspire creativity and the learning of new skills. It includes:
- Books on spinning, weaving and dyeing
- Information on the backgrounds history of spinning, weaving and dyeing
- A small selection of art books to provide inspiration and ideas
- Information about different fibres
- A small selection of basic knitting, crochet and felting books
- Legacy books – books written by members, current and past
