August’s Drop Spindle workshop, run by Carrie, was very well attended. In fact there were more members in the small meeting room drop spindling than were outside in the main hall doing their own thing (some of which were also drop spindling!). A vast variety of spindles were brought along by Carrie to try and test.

Many were learning for the first time but many were learning lots of extra tips, improving their techniques and becoming more confident. Folk learnt to spin and ply on their own or borrowed spindles. It’s a great thing to do as a little drop spindle is so easy to transport and can be bought for very little, or even made at home.
