Shelagh took over the Chair following Heather’s sad death in September last year and she gave an excellent end of year report. We gladly welcomed Judith as our new Chair. Denise was voted onto the committee as she has already made sterling work with the library. Kathy too has joined and she and Debbie will be working on the programme for 2025 to 2026 following Jane standing down this time. Glenis remains as secretary and Aelwen remains as treasurer and presented the report. Our finances are fine so our subscriptions will stay the same again this year, but we must remain financially cautious especially as the bank has made rather costly changes to the account. Chris (me!) remains as website administrator. It was decided that the AGM would be held each February from this year on. Massive thanks go to everyone, past and present, giving their time to the committee and keeping our fantastic guild going, and going so well. 2024 was a good year and we hope 2025 will be another we’re very much looking forward to.
In the meeting room we were delighted to showcase much of Heather’s amazing pieces of work. Some shown here you will have seen in previous Challenge results and Show and Tells. My photos really do not do the work justice, however in August these works of art will be exhibited at the Old Courthouse in Shap and we’re hoping to find other venues too so everyone can see them in their full glory. They really are a ‘must-see’. I’m no weaver but her techniques certainly boggled my mind! Enjoy the gallery…

Just in case you thought we did nothing this month but admire Heather’s work, talk and eat a particularly good shared lunch here are a couple of other fine works. Jean has made a great start on some cute rug art and Diane has crocheted a beautiful ‘Blair Atholl Blanket’ in sumptious Scottish colours. I’d very happily snuggle under that of a cold evening.
