27th and 28th July 2024
Kirkby Stephen, in the heart of the Upper Eden Valley, celebrated Westmorland Dales Festival, commemorating the expansion of the Yorkshire Dales into Cumbria. The weekend included a number of guided walks in the area and presented a great array of groups, crafters and artists both visual and musical. The weekend was blessed with good weather and plenty of visitors enjoyed all the activities.
EVGSWD contributed to the festivities by taking over an empty shop for the weekend. It was well attended and guild members were able to exhibit their excellent work and sell much of their work created over the past year or so. Five guild members demonstrated skills and chatted with visitors and customers. A lot of gorgeous elephants were sold amongst other beautiful items!

Two years ago the Guild’s annual challenge was for each member to create a square, 20x20cm, and the result of all 36 completed squares were displayed on three stunning banners for the first time and proved to be a big draw for visitors, fascinated by both the variety and extraordinary quality of skills from our Guild.
